PurposeFYC stands for Finding Yourself in the Curriculum (originally referred to as the Identity Curriculum at Brookline High School). The goal of FYC is to promote equity and cultivate empathy through embedding lessons on race and identity into the existing academic curriculum. The idea is for all student to see themselves and their social identities represented in the content taught in every course. Even small changes in a teacher's current curriculum can amount to a huge difference a student's school experience and life thereafter.
